Well, the time has finally come to announce the winners of our Mother Earth photography competition. More than 700 of you submitted some seriously beautiful images for what has turned out to be our most successful competition yet, so needless to say judging who the winners were was no small task!
But after much soul searching, chin scratching and some hair-pulling judge they did. We’re delighted to announce that the winner of our Mother Earth CoinaPhoto competition is Michael Bishara for his aptly named photograph Majestic Switzerland. Congratulations to Michael for winning out against the incredibly strong competition and may he spend his $500 worth of Amazon vouchers wisely.
Our resident expert and lead judge, Paul Steele, spoke for the panel as a whole when he described how he was blown away by Michael’s photograph:
“This isn’t about the massive surroundings. I can tell this is an impulse picture of that magical moment the photographer felt. Beautiful Colour in abundance at their feet with a backdrop of great snow covered mountains – mother earth at it’s most beautiful in the foreground and background”
Others on the judging panel even went so far as to call it a “window into the perilous utopia of Narnia”, other less whimsical members of the panel admired it for the technical skill in perspective photography it oozed.
We also need to give a very special congratulations to the two talented runners up; Albert Olle I Callau, who was awarded second prize of $300 Amazon Gift voucher for his underwater masterpiece Rhizostoma Pulmo Jellyfish, and Md. Akhlas Udin for his truly captivating image Sunset who picked up third place and $200 Amazon gift voucher.
This hard-come-to result for our Mother Earth competition was delivered after taking into consideration the number of votes achieved, how far the shot captured the proposed theme and which photo was deemed the best by our judging panel. In a perfect world, all of the hundreds of captivating images we received could be a winner!
You can take a look at our winning photos below and if you missed out on a chance to enter or win this time, then not to worry as there is another competition just around the corner J.
